Spring is coming and we have another lecture for you as part of our series: Everything You Wanted to Know But Were Afraid to Ask. Following the successful autumn lectures, another one is coming, this time subtitled as: Photovoltaics - a Bright Future? The lecture will be given by Dr. Dzurňák from the Czech Technical University.

This popular-science lecture will not only cover the basic theory associated with photovoltaics, such as determining the limit of light conversion, but will also explain the construction of solar panels and materials suitable for their effective functioning. Furthermore, current trends in improving the efficiency of solar panels will be introduced. The lecturer will critically examine the lifetime and ecological aspects of solar panels and, finally, acquaint us with research conducted at the Center for Advanced Photovoltaics at the Czech Technical University, of which he is a member.
