Kind: Poradenské a kariérní centrum
Event type: Workshop
Lecturer: RNDr. Michal Pitoňák, Ph.D.

Description:

The social status of LGBTQ+ people in the Czech Republic and the broader Central European region is undergoing a dynamic transformation. While society has already accepted some issues, others face stagnation or intense, politicized reactions. But what is the real situation when we set aside emotions and look at the facts?

Researcher (NUDZ), academic (FHS UK), and science communicator (Queer Geography) Michal Pitoňák will present the current state of affairs and projected developments based on key empirical data, including the national study *Being LGBTQ+ in the Czech Republic*, surveys by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), European Eurobarometer polls, and data from the Williams Institute and ILGA-Europe. The lecture will clearly contextualize both Czech and regional data and offer an answer to the question of which direction the situation in Central Europe is actually heading.
