Are you a doctoral student planning to submit a student scientific project (VIGA)?
It doesn’t matter whether it is your first proposal or you have written several before. The session is for everyone who wants to learn or refresh the basics. The announcement of the internal grant competition (VIGA) for 2027/2028 will take place in November 2026, and applications are usually submitted from December to mid-January. The session is scheduled right between the announcement and the submission period, when the rules are known and there is still time to prepare your proposal.
Dates:
- Wednesday 25 November 2026, 1:00–3:00 pm, Uhelna, in Czech
- Tuesday 1 December 2026, 1:00–3:00 pm, B2319, in English
We will show you what evaluators look for in a proposal and where proposals most often lose points. We will go through the general principles of a strong proposal using the actual VIGA rules: how to state clear objectives and methodology, how to build a budget the right way, why international contacts matter, and how to use AI sensibly while writing. There will also be time for questions.
The seminar is led by the Project Centre together with Veronika Popová from the PhD Office, who is in charge of VIGA. Please join in person if you can, you will get the most out of it.
